#49: Online Entrepreneurship and Digital Nomads with Omar Mo

When Omar Mo was 18, he had no idea what he wanted to do in life. He was thrown into school without a clear sense of direction. Because, you know, most of us don’t know what we’re doing at that age. But less than ten years later, Omar had built up several income streams through freelancing, investing, and online businesses.

Today, he’s the founder of Nomadables and the host of The Nomadic Executive podcast. He helps online entrepreneurs that want to escape the daily grind of a 9 to 5 job and live a life of freedom and purpose. Centered around health, wealth, and wisdom, Omar uses life lessons he’s learned from his own experience and other experts across the world to empower people to live their best lives.

In this episode, we’re covering the power of repurposing content, why it’s important to have processes in your business, and some of our favorite travel destinations.

This episode of Good People, Cool Things is presented by Fiverr — the place to go for all kinds of creative freelancers. Find your next logo, design, video, article, book cover, and so much more, created by SUPER impressive people from all across the world. Get started for as little as $5 at Fiverr.com.

Highlights of our conversation include:

  • Why Omar started a podcast agency after recognizing podcasting is still an underutilized medium. (4:03)

  • The types of content repurposing Omar recommends, the reasons it’s so important for any business, and his process for finding “golden nuggets” and using them on other platforms. (7:24)

  • A look inside Clubhouse and the benefits it can have for your business — and whether it will eventually take out the podcasting as a whole. (11:00)

  • Omar pulls back the curtain behind his strategies for helping businesses launch their own podcasts, especially B2B and SaaS. A few tips: podcast swaps, video clips, and transcribing episodes for SEO purposes. (17:05)

  • Something that’s surprised Omar about running a digital business. (26:08)

  • The bottlenecks and roadblocks Omar has seen in the businesses he works with, and how you can avoid similar challenges. (28:52)

  • Our favorite time-wasters and a quote that Omar lives by to help keep him disciplined. (31:42)

  • The top travel destinations Omar has visited, and places that are still on his travel list. And because I’m a traveler — I share some of my favorite destinations as well! (35:10)
